How to Give Claude or ChatGPT a Credit Card Safely

Your Claude agent needs to book a hotel. Your ChatGPT automation needs to purchase supplies. Your n8n workflow needs to pay an invoice. But handing them your actual credit card feels wrong—and it should.

Giving an AI agent your real card number is security theater masquerading as convenience. Yes, it works. Yes, your agent can make purchases. But you've created three dangerous failure modes: data exposure, unlimited liability, and accountability gaps.
